35, father of two girls (pink house!), mountain biking Civil Engineer (flood defence and drainage design) based in the South West of the UK.
My interest in photography started in 2005, when I was asked by a work client to take some photos for a public exhibition. The job forced me to borrow, and learn how to use, a DSLR (Canon 350D) for the first time. The process and intimacy of using a proper camera when compared with the compacts I had used before was something that struck a cord with me, even if it was a trial by fire.
Since then I have built my own collection of kit, taken more photos for work and various public exhibitions, built a small stock library and have run a couple of workshops. In the end though, photography (and the same can be said about mountain biking) for me is an excuse to be at the coast or on the hills at all hours, or even in my garden crawling around looking for interesting bugs.
In terms of my photos, I like my images to reflect my style across all of the random genres I shoot and I often process my shots using textures and various overlays to enhance their natural feel.
