I’ve been a serious amateur photographer for the last 15 years but have had the photography bug since I was kid and I got my dad’s hand me down Kodak Brownie. Currently I photograph digitally using Canon SLRs and lenses and have a fully digital workflow using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
The subject matter I primarily photograph are landscape and travel, however, I will dabble in everything. I’ve always let my interests dictate what I photograph, so as an avid music lover I will also quite frequently photograph live concerts. I also tend to experiment with new technology and ideas, which currently includes motion controlled time-lapse photography.
My philosophy in approaching any subject matter is to do as much research as possible on it before I get to a location or take any photos. In my experience, the more you know about the subject the better you can approach it and anticipate those special moments to capture. In a large part photography for me is really about creating the best opportunities for yourself.
Over the years my work has won photo competitions, and been published in magazines, books, as well as travel brochures. I have also sold my work through collections I have had on display in several galleries.
I live in New Hampshire where I also work as a software engineer.
