“Photography is a way to express our curiosity about life and its expressions, beyond cultural and language barriers.”
Both born in 1978, Stéphanie Borcard and Nicolas Métraux live in Fribourg, Switzerland, but spend most of their time in different Asian countries.
They like to immerse themselves in a country and quietly photograph their way through it. They work on personal projects, influenced by their travels and by other forms of expression such as books, paintings and movies. Human interactions are at the heart of what they do: it shapes their process as well as the content of their photographs.
Unconcerned with ownership, Stéphanie and Nicolas do not reveal the author behind their images.
Currently, they are collaborating with swissinfo.ch, Le Temps and CIAN agency.
