Follow me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Benosaradzicphotography The human sight wanders; it floats between the parallel planes of visual stimuli, the perception of senses and stored memories. Our vision induces feelings, evokes memories and creates complex associations and reactions. It's an infinitely complex process. It can fool us too, for sometimes, it blinds us with emotions. For me, photography is about capturing an ephemeral slice of time which I unwittingly inhabit among the stars and in between many points of Nothing. My body of work is a combination of sparks of momentary inspiration, with an amalgamation of science, an unhinged creativity and the poetry of mathematics; when shapes align, I become a hyper-aware observer of that moment which lasts no longer than a snowflake on the palm of a hand. I explore volumes, separated and intertwined by shadows and light and these, in turn, trigger my impulse. They make me remember my favourite books, films, isolated events, glimpses of people, hopes, dreams and my darkest fears. Like a bloodhound, I relentlessly trace the footprints of textures, the reflections and distortions, the faint movements and stillness, the mathematic puzzles and hidden buried secrets. My art is my hunt. My hunt is my art. It’s an inexplicable hunger that emanates from deep within. It's hard to define the central focus of my work but it is no harder than finding beauty in the mundane. My work reflects this quest. Whether I'm photographing a glittering skyscraper or a decaying and abandoned house, a quiet forest in the morning or a thunderous waterfall, my work is about finding and hearing the inaudible echoes that lie muted beyond the spectrum of frozen light. It's a never ending pursuit for general aesthetics amidst chaos. It's a quest for narrative within the noise. I seek visuals that evoke dialogue and spark the curiosity. My work is infused with personal joy of life and adolescent sense of reality. I enjoy treating light as a tangible object with a painterly, hyper-stylized and dramatized quality. My subjects are arranged with an architectonic order which respect the scale and proportions, yet always sparkling with a sense of ecstatic grandeur. My visuals choose me; I only acknowledge them with my observation. I try to understand with compassion and gratitude. Beauty of light can never be truly understood. As such, it deserves quiet admiration and respect. Beno is a multiple-award winning photographer, art director and filmmaker. He is currently based in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Epilogue

Published December 30th, 2011

I don't know about you, Ladies and Gents, but for me, 2011 was great. Beyond great.

I -finally- figured it all out. Well, at least a big part of it. Now I know where my true passion and gifts lay.

I've completely surrendered to photography, time-lapse photography in particular. Jumped in with both feet. I thoroughly enjoyed producing short films, commercials and corporate films for Timesand Studios (www.timesand.ae).

I met lots of new, fascinating people. Some of them inspired me, helped me, encouraged me to try new things, to push even harder and to NEVER give up.

So I worked hard and then even harder...I read every book and article there was to read about the arts of photography, filmmaking, editing...then I compulsively practiced and practiced. On weekends. At nights. I took more than 100,000 photos this year and all this while, I never stopped having fun.

Success followed; I half dozen awards and two major photographic competitions this year. I received numerous accolades and ma ...

It's the end of 2011 and this is my first blog post...ever. Do come back and visit this blog every now and then; I've, hopefully, lots useful info and interesting photos to share with all of you.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

with love, Beno

PS.: I've attached a few shots from my last vacation, back home in Slovenia. This is a very dear place to me; it that transports me back to my days of childhood. Most of my memories of youth, late grandparents and my oldest, dearest friends are from those parts.

All shots were taken with my trusty Canon PowerShot G9.

If you ever manage to visit Slovenia, don't pass on the opportunity to visit these incredible sights of river Soca in the west of the country.. If there's heaven, it must look a lot like this country. Wouldn't you agree?
