“That which we see with our minds eye in the world around us, can be captured in a still image to learn, study, and appreciate for all time.”
- Brian K. Leadingham
Brian K. Leadingham is a Northern California based photographer living in San Francisco. His interest in photography began at Texas Tech University where he studied photography as a means to enhance his marching band show design business. Having no access to photographs of the marching bands for use in print media and websites, Brian learned to photograph these band shows at football games and competitions around the United States. When traveling, he quickly learned that he had a talent for Landscape and Travel Photography as well. Beginning his study just before the dawn of digital, Brian learned traditional film/darkroom photography and moved to digital when it was still in its infancy and has been a digital photographer since. After a vacation to San Francisco in 2000, he realized this is where he wanted to be and moved there in 2002.
His focus is on State and National Parks as well as other natural areas around San Francisco and Northern California. Through photography, Brian hopes to encourage people to get out and explore their natural surroundings and outdoor spaces close to home. His work can be seen on display at hostels in San Francisco, The Marin Headlands and Sacramento. In addition, his work has been featured on NationalGeographic.com and BudgetTravel.com. He is currently working on a photo book of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
