Based in New York City, Brian D. Bumby is a self-taught photographer with a passion for travel, architecture, and the performing arts.
Having discovered a talent for taking pictures since the gift of a digital point-and shoot camera several years ago, his images have gone on to be featured by numerous websites, blogs, and publications including Travel & Leisure; National Geographic; The New York Times; and the Chicago Tribune. His pictures were recently featured in the book “High Line: The Inside Story of New York City's Park in the Sky" (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2011), and his images of Norway and Denmark have been featured in Norway’s Bergens Tidende newspaper and on major Scandinavian travel websites including www.visitdenmark.com, visitcopenhagen.com, and www.visitbergen.com. His photos also hang in several private collections both in the United States and abroad.
His recent travel includes Arctic Norway; London for the 2012 Summer Olympics; and visits to Germany and Croatia. Upcoming travel plans include debut visits to Russia, Finland, Estonia, and Sweden.
When he is not shooting and/or travelling, he lives in New York with his beloved Yorkie, Barnaby, who would much rather be chasing tennis balls than sitting still for a picture!
