Living in Northamptonshire, I'm about as far away from the coast as you can get in the UK. I admire coastal landscape shots probably more than anything else, but I'm not in the ideal location to take these photographs myself. Northamptonshire though is surrounded by very nice countryside, which I enjoy in a number of ways, travelling by car, bike, on foot, or exploring rivers in my canoe. I aim to find hidden beauty in all my endeavors, and find landscapes to capture and share with photography admirers. I've been taking photographs for a few years but don't have a great deal of knowledge or skills. I just capture what feels right, and try to display what I feel from actually being in that location, in the peace and serenity of the countryside. I own a Canon KISS X4, the terrible Japanese name for an EOS 550D. I purchased a kit package straight from Hong Kong to save a few bob, but in hindsight I think I would have rather just bought an EOS 550D body from a local shop, and bought decent lenses to fit it. My kit lenses were the 'Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6' & the 'Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6' ...which are quite terrible, but have at least been usable, and have given me the chance to start taking some good photos. My next investment might be a Sigma 10-20mm lens, which will allow me to capture wider landscape scenes I always strive to get.
