Photography is important to me. It has become my way of showing the viewer how I see the world around me. Whether I am working in black and white or color, my goal is always to make my images distinctive in their style and thematic content. Driven by a general moodiness, I work most often at night or in the small windows of time allowed by sunsets, twilight, or the cloud cover that comes from a passing storm. My landscapes, while not minimalist, tend to be stark and despairing and the themes of my urban images are most often of vintage signage, particularly neon, as objects of both art and advertisement. Many of my photographs- even when taken indoors- display a preference for the impressionistic use of light, used sparingly and with stark contrast. In the end all I really want to know is… can you feel it?
