I am a Melbourne based freelance photographer. I have always been a highly creative person, over the years I have pursued many creative avenues. Photography has always been with me even before I really knew that I wanted to be a photographer, I’ve been doing photography as creative outlet for 10+ years now. I grew up in a small town on the coast of Victoria and moved around quite a bit during that time. Starting out on a film point and shoot style camera I would often photograph a lot of nature and beaches, It wasn’t till around 1998 that I borrowed a Minolta SLR film camera and started shooting everything around me. I eventually got my own Minolta SLR film camera around 2000 and continued shooting and slowly taught myself how to use this camera with great success, from there I started photographing bands, parties and everything in between. 2004 I decided to study a Diploma of visual arts where I learnt about dark rooms and developing my own black and white film, mixing chemicals and setting up an exhibition for my work. I was very blessed during this time as I had a friend whom I knew for quite a while who was also my teacher and an amazing photographer and person to know who guided me through the course. 2009 I found myself relocating to Melbourne where I brought my own basic digital SLR and started shooting landscape and street, from there I progressed and upgraded my equipment and continued shooting street as well as portraits, protests, events, live music, landscape and car shows. In the last 12 months I have developed a strong interest in creative/fashion portrait photography and strobist/lighting techniques shooting on different locations as well as the live music scene. My current project I’m working on at the moment is a street based exhibition of thought provoking images.
