American from the Jersey shore, but been living in the UK since the late sixties. English and Media Studies teacher, recently retired and loving it. Very pleased to be officially an Old Age Pensioner as of my sixtieth birthday four years ago - hence qualifying for a free bus pass. The Nikon D90 was my first DSLR and it was love at first sight, despite the steep learning curve, from point-and-shoot to ISO, aperture and shutter speed. As of March 2011, I bought a second-hand D700 and found out what real love is. I'm keeping my D90, however. It's lighter and feels like an old friend. I'll photograph anything from buskers and the contents of bric-a-brac shops, to my grandchildren or strangers on the tube. Anything is up for grabs, but I tend to take more portraits than anything else. The human face. Can you ever get tired of it?
