Christian - Not the religious type - Just real.My focus is on the human equation, visual stories about those in need of the basic necessities of life, social issues, and oppression. The vision to create these stories is the result of my personal experiences. The Berlin Wall and cold war, continuing discrimination in the southern U.S., the Gulf War, and the effects of economic depression and those who've become an invisible part of society. Life, as I see it now, it is not much different than the era of the Great Depression; the only difference is we've become a technological society versus the industrial society we new just two decades ago.
My beginning goes back to a day in 1969, standing with my father in his darkroom. Since the first experience, each day has been focused on learning, and expanding my skills as an artist and a story teller. My creativity and vision is directly influenced by my different careers outside of fotografie which have spanned over three decades of my life. In some areas of the world, technology and time have not improved the human condition, and it remains unchanged.
Fotografie is a passion only superseded by God, and family and yet all are interconnected. My Fotografie has been seen in over 60 countries and I have been included in projects like Picture Black Friday, contributed work to Images Without Borders to support Doctors Without Borders and the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The sotries I create are an effort to support those in need, especially since it looks as if our economic times will continue without improvement in the foreseeable future.
