Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero or in other words "Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the future", Just interested in photography, self taught and thanks to YouTube and the hundreds of useful tutorials:), i have merely scratched the surface.......I suffer from a very painful Autoimmune disease, it is a progressive rhumatic diesease of the spine and peripheral joints called Ankylosing Spondylitis for which there is no cure, this restricts my movement a great deal, I can often be seen in the most ridiculous positions to compensate for the lack of flex in my spine and neck .I Have been on Anti TNF treatment for 10 years ( Entanercept) and still waiting for a major improvement ! .....this has made photography even more of a challenge. I love the fact that photography is subjective, I have never thought of myself as an artist in any way.....until I discovered photography and Flickr is where I can show my "artistic" side, and I don't care if people "get" my pictures or not! ......but it is nice to get a positive comment from someone that can be from anywhere in the world .....happy days ! Unfortunatly my experiance in life thus far has made me a cynic rarely are people genuine, I just don't get it, why say one thing and mean another ?! So I hope the comments people make on here are genuine.....good or bad....I can take it ! I now have 3 cameras in my life, Canon 50D, Fujifilm X100 and my phone camera which is currently a HTC Desire S "We are passive onlookers in a world that moves perpetually. Our only moment of creation is that 1/125 of a second when the shutter clicks." Henri Cartier-Bresson 1908 - 2004 "It is not altogether wrong to say that there is no such thing as a bad photograph -- only less interesting, less relevant, less mysterious ones." Susan Sontag (1933-2004) American author. "It takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the extraordinary". David Bailey Anonymous Quotes on Photography "Everyone has a photographic memory… some just don’t have film" Owning a DSLR does not make you a photographer. It makes you a DSLR owner There’s a photograph everywhere and it’s the photographer’s job to find it. And finally nothing to do with photography............. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee............... In case you are wondering you may have heard it in "Pulp Fiction"
