Photography is something that is taken for granted by so many people, every day. We are immersed in it throughout our daily lives through advertising, memories pinned to the cubicle wall, handheld devices and even mental photographs that we take to recall certain events or emotions. Rarely does any thought go into these images as we pass hurriedly by to get to the next item on our daily to-do list. It is the goal of photographers everywhere, from parents snapping photos of their children to commercial fashion photographers, to make an image with staying power- An image set apart from the rest by a unique display of skill, craftsmanship and often a fair bit of luck. A photograph that, once viewed, is never forgotten.
This is my passion. A force that drives me and is never quenched, only fueled by rarely achieving what was sought.
I enjoy photographing a wide range of subjects including natural landscapes, cityscapes, stars, weather, and people. It is one thing to record a place and time; it is another to bring the viewer there- to immerse them completely in the moment.
Photographs can inspire, persuade, validate and discredit. They convey love, hate, fear and comfort. Create happiness, sadness, tears and laughter. But, most of all, they forge an emotion - The foundation of the human spirit and the core of a lifelong journey.
This is my journey...
