"I travelled solo across Europe when I was 16; I was once considered a great mixologist; I have visited every state in the lower 48; I was a competitive force in the world international of freestyle skiing; I spent my early twenties spinning house music throughout the midwest; My Wacom pen has more miles than your first car."
Which one isn’t true? More on that later...
I am a San Diego native who found himself in Colorado via almost every other state in the country. It was in Colorado that I obtained a degree in commercial photography with an emphasis on portraits and food. I hesitate to use the words “conceptual portraiture” on the basis that I’m not that cool or formal.
What I do make is photographs of people in the studio, on location and more often than not I include both in the same image. As a child of the 80s growing up in rural New England I spent my early years split between the screen and the trail. I like to think that still describes my passions to this day. I am equally at home shooting a studio portrait, hiking for that perfect landscape background plate and sitting firmly in front of the screen with my Wacom Pen.
Given the chance I can be quite charming, creative and hardworking. More importantly, I’m happy to share what I’ve picked up along the way, enjoy a moment with a fellow traveller and collaborate with other bright, creative minds.
And I might have omitted a false statement above... cheers!
