Photographer and artist, Jessica Shaw was born and raised in northeast Oklahoma. She is currently a student at Rogers State University achieving a BFA in photography and intends to acquire a MFA later in her career. Although the subjects of her works vary on a wide scale she consistently strives to create and incorporate interesting compositions, the zone system, and lighting techniques in all of her pieces. Her philosophy on photography is that it is an art form by using the camera as her canvas and light to paint her subjects. She strives to capture moments in time that we never truly see and turn them into art. And to open the imagination and inspiration in others by using her vision of the world.
