By profession, I have gone from IT to the exciting world of computer forensics. Today, as a forensic computer examiner I have to travel often. So much that during my travels I've decided to take my cameras along and when time permits photograph wherever I visit.
I've been going to the Tetons since September 1989 but I wasn't into photography then but I feel in love with the Tetons!
I became involved with digital photography around 2001. During September 2003, after my 5th trip to Jackson Hole, WY, I had to start capturing the Tetons in digital form and have since published an ebook called "Jackson Hole, WY - A Photographer's Shooting Guide" which is available from Smashwords.com. Just enter "Jerry Patterson" in the search box at the top right of the window and click search to find it.
Upon my subsequent visits to Jackson Hole, WY, the Tetons and surrounding areas, I've traveled from northern Yellowstone National Park to the Wind River Range 75 miles southeast of Jackson, WY to photograph Square Top Mountain reflecting in the western most Green River Lake in Bridger National Forest.
In visiting this area from the middle of the bitter cold winter to the spring wildflower season in late June and early July to fall in late September, the most gorgeous time of the year there has got to be the fall even though the wildflower season is a close second.
Music-wise, I listen to the Dreamscapes channel on www.sky.fm when I want to really concentrate on my photography work. For a nice change, I love to listen to the Gypsy Kings and classic rock and then you have to throw in some Andrea Bocelli ! When I'm home in Virginia I drive to Old Town Alexandria and enjoy the live music of Duende Cameron at Las Tapas at 710 S. King Street.
Please note: In 2013 I'll be leading three 3 day sunrise to sunset photo shoots/workshop in Jackson Hole, WY. The first two will be during the spring wildflower season: June 28-30 and July 5-7. The third will be during the height of the fall colors from Sept 27-29.
Please contact me if you're interesting in joining me for any one of the 3 Teton photo adventures.
Thanks for stopping.
