My name is Jaap Jan de Boer. I’m a 24 year old guy from the Netherlands. I got into photography when I got my first iPhone; I literally took pictures of everything I saw. As with everything you get into, you start to check out other peoples work. This is when I came across pictures of old and abandoned buildings. Immediately I was hooked. It didn’t take long before I found out that there was this whole scene around this thing called ‘Urban Exploring’. The more information I found the more excited I got; I decided to just do it. That decision was followed by the purchase of my first camera in the summer of 2011, and the search of my first location to explore. After this first location I wanted to explore more and more. I couldn’t and didn’t want to stop doing this. Right now I explore buildings on a monthly basis and enjoy it every time. With my photo’s I want to show and share the feeling and beauty of decay.
