I'm a hobbyist who is fairly new to the world of DSLR photography. I picked up my first DSLR in 2009. The motivation to expand from a point-and-shoot camera to a DSLR came many years after being diagnosed with kidney failure. Years after starting dialysis treatments in 2004 resulted in the desire to find a hobby to distract the mind and body from my failing health. In February 2010, after 5-1/2 years on dialysis, and on my birthday, I recieved a phone call from the hospital that a kidney had become available that was a match. I underwent successful transplant surgery the following day.
Now with a new lease on life with a fully functioning kidney, the photography possibilities are seemingly endless. I am always seeking knowledge and continuously learning to improve my photography skills.
