The artistry of Jim Fredlund, an American award-winning photographer whose works have appeared internationally in galleries, magazines, and books, is based on a philosophy that the photographs should bathe the viewer in a celebration of the female form. Whether the images fall into the genre of glamour, fine art or erotica, Jim never relies on elaborate make-up, over-the-top styling, extensive photo-shopping or locations of urban decay, instead focusing on the natural beauty of each individual model to capture and hold the viewer's attention. Living close to Washington, D.C., Jim spent many years photographing landscapes, monuments, masonry, and still lifes and his stunning images adorned the offices of doctors, lawyers and dentists. It wasn't until his daughter requested Jim capture a few maternity images for her that he turned his sights toward portrait photography. With this new found passion, Jim completely immersed himself in the study of lighting, posing, and the business of photography, and soon found himself perfecting what was quickly becoming his specialized genre: the fine art nude. Although fine art nudes still represent a large percentage of his work, Jim's portfolio now includes a large spectrum of intimate portraiture that also includes provocative erotic and fetish images that have been published in books, magazines and appear on several erotic and fetish websites. These images, like his fine art nudes, have garnered much attention as Jim is becoming one of the United States' best known erotic photographers, renowned for producing images that are sensual and captivating. Always striving to aim higher, to always improve, and, yes, to push the envelope even further, when asked to pick his best image, Jim says "the best is yet to come".
