My interest in photography began in the late 70's. I was going to an Elton John concert and wanted to have pictures of the event. My instamatic was not going to be a viable option. My father brought out his WWII era Leica and asked if I'd like to know how to take real pictures. Well, I soon learned they would not allow cameras into the show, but I began a lifelong journey. I learned to develop and print my pictures and spent my high school years in the darkroom looking like a preppy vampire and smelling of vinegar- stop bath. I went off to college with the intent of being a fine art photographer, but became discouraged when I found my rebellious adolescent self clashing with the politics of the fine art world. I spent several years in wonderfully odd jobs before coming back to photography in the digital age and beginning to find my way once again. I welcome critiques, and am happy to be a new member of the 500px community.
