Aikido In Still Preparation

Published March 12th, 2012

Walking the mat with a 50mm lens gave me a different view to my normal class. It helped me identify the relationship between people before any martial technique had even be shown. We often see exciting martial images of big acrobatic break falls and throws but martial arts is nothing without people searching for the same common goal. To focus on the self at the beginning of class helps us grow and work together as a community. These images are a selection of moments that show the internal connections being found before martial expression can be truly practised together in a respectful and responsive manner.
