Marina is an award-winning nature photographer (with an emphasis in avian) and a Florida Master Naturalist based in Tampa Bay, Florida. Her fascination with birds was spawned when her second grade science teacher presented the class with an incubator full of duck eggs which successfully hatched. Her introduction to photography came at 18 just after moving to Florida when her father gave her a 35mm camera. It wasn’t until she purchased a digital body in 2007 that her hobby quickly developed into an obsession. You may often find her dressed in camouflage or waders, submerged in water, covered in mud or lying flat on her belly in sand attempting a picture from the best vantage point.
Marina is an avian moderator on the popular nature photography website www.birdphotographers.net. During the spring and summer months, she finds great joy in volunteering “for the birds.” She has won several awards and her images have been published in National Wildlife, Nature’s Best, Popular Photography, Living Bird, Nature Photographer and WildBird.
