"If my clothes, camera and tripod aren't dirty, then I'm not trying hard enough"
My obsession with photography began in January 2007 while searching my favorite time-killing site, Flickr. I stumbled upon a set of amazing images that were captured by an Austin, Texas-based photographer named Trey Ratcliff, otherwise known as "Stuck in Customs". Trey mastered and helped popularize a form of photography known as HDR (High Dynamic Range), which is widely practiced today by thousands of talented photographers. I was immediately drawn to the brightness, detail and overall intrigue in HDR photos. After reviewing his tutorial, I became addicted to practicing day after day, sunset after sunset. Even though I was shooting with a Canon point-and-shoot camera, I was able to produce beautiful images that further fueled my addiction. With much practice and many purchases of "real" photography equipment, I have finally found my niche in this exciting world of photography. With my photography skills maturing, I have begun to attempt to master the art of many photography forms including: weddings, portraits, events, black and white, water, and long exposure. The list is endless, and this is what intrigues me most about the art of photography. No matter how hard you practice, how many exposure you shoot, you will never be perfect. But the dream of that elusive "perfect shot" keeps us coming back for more, even though, as every photographer knows, there is no such thing.
I am fortunate enough to make my sole income through photography, so you can usually find me posting and commenting on every social media throughout the day. Since June, the closest I have come to working a "day job" is shooting the beautiful real estate around the San Francisco Bay Area for www.vht.com. I love helping to give Real Estate Agents and homeowners the professional photos they need in order to help sell their homes.
When I am not photographing houses, or my best buddy Rocky, You can probably find me globe trotting and helping to lead photography workshops with The Giving Lens, where we as a group, combine our love of travel, our passion for photography, and our deep desire to give back to those in need. Come join us on a future adventure.
In the rare occasions that you can find me without my camera, I will most likely be at either A San Francisco Giants, or San Francisco 49er game.
I love talking photography, so if you ever have a question or just want to chat, please feel free to send me a message!
