Until I reached the age of 24, it never came across to me that the art of photography would fully occupy my whole life, notwithstanding the fact that I had the abilities since childhood.
My parents "got it" earlier than I did, and I thank them for that. The day a pile of album drawings of friends and relative had been found in my desk, they had sent me to art school. I loved the idea and had studied with great pleasure. Unfortunately, painting and anterior had never interested me much. I has interested only in people, in creating their portraits and sculpture while most of my studies concentrated on paint. Now you realize why I never graduated from art school?
In that period of time my uncle was doing photography, and it was truly interesting to watch him taking pictures and later locking himself up in small bathroom to develop the film in red lighting. The moment I understood all aspects and processes, he allowed me to shoot on his "Zenit" camera.
Later on, studies and puberty had taken me away from my hobby, throwing me into the world of economic and languages which had never interested me either.
Then personal life problems came by, taking me to psychology. I became interested in studying behavior and characters of people, putting study results on paper. I am a bad writer, so I began to draw again. Soon after I have bought my first professional camera and started to work in "Photoshop".
For 6 years I take pictures of people, trying to reflect their inner reality. If it is a commercial photo shoot, I always make sure to know the story of the person by having a lot of contact with him or her. Only after I get what I want, I start to shoot. Sometime the process can take 2 hours, and sometimes up to 2 weeks. Methods of photography and lighting are something I always work with by taking extra classes and practicing in studio. I always try to advance my work.
No matter what, I never view photography as my job. It brings me only pleasure. It is a way to watch people and realize myself. I love all people and I am interested in their lives, knowledge and experience... With the help of photography I show my own feelings for these people, bringing my own soul into each photo. Sometimes it is a composition with lots of special effects in "Photoshop", and sometimes it is only a shot with his hero and some light on it.
I do photo shoots in Saint-Petersburg and all over the world.
Let us get to know each other ;)
