Broken

Why is photography so expensive?

I have returned recently from a trip to France where, 50% of the way in, I dropped and damaged my main camera. Returning home, I have had it checked and the cost is over £200 - that's a large part of the way towards a new lens.

There was not a lot wrong - the mirror locks up when I press the shutter, so Canon say the shutter needs to be re-aligned. And, it'll take around two weeks to get it back. It has already been two weeks to get the quote in the first place! Four weeks without my camera and £200+ to boot.

Think I'll take up something cheaper :)
