I am a retired Technical Specialist who has in some way been connected to photography for the last 40 years. I enjoy working in the medium I love… capturing the elusive 1,000 words in the images all around us. It seems to me that while those images do surround us it is their nature to be fleeting often before us only for a heartbeat then gone forever… unless we make an effort to capture them. These images continue to catch my attention. I use a Nikon D700 with an 28-300mm lens, a most amazing combination. The part of California I live in is in the southwestern corner of the Mojave Desert which covers a little town along old Route 66 called Victorville... It is about halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas and I believe it is the best kept secret in California. In the old days, before 1970, the movie stars used to hang out here but that crowd is long gone and yet Hollywood still finds reasons to come up here and find great images… and you have seen those images more than you realize… Like I said, those images are around us all the time. I enjoy finding and capturing the unique image… the image the that raises or answers a question. Maybe this image stirs a thought or emotion while it makes you linger over it… perhaps calling you to come back later and look again… I keep coming back because I am having fun.
