Phil Armishaw is a freelance photographer living in southern Ontario, Canada. He is well known for his work with the City of Hamilton photographing and documenting their over 120 waterfalls. He volunteers on a waterfall advisory committee for the city and has been interviewed on TV, radio, and in newspapers several times with his photos and waterfall knowledge. Phil started a Flickr group for Hamilton's waterfalls and also leads group walks to the many waterfalls. He also helps run a photography group called the Hamilton Flick Group whose goal is to promote the City of Hamilton and a place for local people with photography interests to meet and improve their skills.
Wildlife and in particular birds have been a passion of Phils and he has photographed over 225 species in the wild. These photos have been printed in birding books, magazines, newspapers, and are published on many online sites. His personal online Flickr website ( www.flickr.com/sprint8 ) is comprised of over 2400 photos and has over 350,000 views.
Over the last year Phil has ventured into photojournalism and sports in particular. He photographs for two OHA hockey teams and recently has been shooting auto racing. Phil's is very knowledgable in auto racing due to the fact he was a race car driver and raced at many Ontario and US tracks.
