Phillip Villaflor Fernandez was born in Cebu, Philippines. He is the second child of Architect Oscar Fernandez and Rowena Villaflor Fernandez. As a young child, he developed an interest in music and the arts. He started competing in inter-school art competitions when he was 8 years old, and received multiple awards for his artistry throughout his elementary and high school years. He was influenced by his father in film photography in the late 1980s. Phil received his Bachelors degree in Architecture from the University of San Carlos. At the age of 25, he got married, and concentrated on being a husband and father. He migrated to California in the late 1990's. Phillip became very passionate about photography. Due to his architecture background and love for the arts, he developed a keen eye for balance and detail. His portfolio shows his multi-faceted approach to photography. Currently, he works full time as a professional beauty/fashion/portrait photographer in Los Angeles , California. He works with clothing companies, shooting look book / portfolio for models/actors , covering civic/corporate events, and weddings and pre nup photo shoots. He is also gets hired as lighting tech for professional photographers.
