My name is Ralph Budke and was born in 1963 in Dinslaken (Kreis Wesel, North Rhine-WESTPHALIA). I started with macro photography very late, at the age of 41. Already as a child the animal and insect world has fascinated me. Dragonflies, flying like a helicopter through the skies. Ants that build a whole city to hundreds of thousands. Skip, jumping, exploring the meadow. Simply put, big see the little creatures. What is as obvious as the macro photography. Macro images convey a fascination of proximity. The captured moment opens up the world of the inconspicuous and often looking over. As I've started 2004 with photographing insects & co, it was delighted immediately and keeps me up today firmly in his spell. My photos are a selection of numerous domestic and tropical insects and spiders, from an ever-growing collection. My pictures give the relation between image and reality. You deepen the insight and give the opportunity to a barely visible world to dive. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of nature in light and colors.
