On or Off Target?

Published June 17th, 2012

Every wondered whether an opportunity you've took coming your way was the right one?

Hit or Miss

Ever wonder when something you did was a hit or a miss?

Opportunities come and go, and when they do come, we take them. Grip em by the neck and “aaarr.. I got chya you darn opportunity!” Hastily as we might be, the competitive nature of a human being will lead us to the next thing; to take, or not to take? To take the opportunity to move to ‘A’ or not, than to take the next one approaching via ‘B’s route? I believe opportunities are always there, passing by us every moment and repeatedly too! Something like a circuit. If we miss it, it might come back again. But depending on how big the circuit is, it might come back again really late. They might come as an ‘à la carte’ or a combo of opportunities, and if we are fortunate enough, we grab as much as we can, and be satisfied with whatever we chose.

Once standing in front of an opportunity, we get ready with all of our might and our strength… and “WHAMP!!”

But was it a hit, or a miss? As you freeze the moment of the shot, you ponder whether you’d actually scored with this opportunity. As mayhem as it sounds, no one would know but yourself.

A few days or months or years ahead, are you satisfied with where you are after embracing the outcome of your choice?

Are you deep in thoughts now?

Well don’t be :p

A wise friend once told me that the question was actually never necessary. If you ever pondered whether it was a hit or miss, you’re better off living in the present than weighing on the pass judgments you’ve made. I guess he meant that whatever path you have taken, never see it as a mistake made. After all, opportunities were never there to create a disastrous outcome. There might have been better opportunities you say? Well maybe yes, maybe no. But instead of thinking it was a hit or miss, you might be better off looking forward at the next ball coming your way, and hitting it right this time mate!

Cheers
