I am a passionate amateur photographer, allmost entirely skilled by self education. My first serious steps into photography were in spring 2007, started out with a Canon S3 IS. Soon I developed a tast for macro and bought myself a macro conversion lens.
Late 2007 my girlfiend and I were thinking of a 2week journey to Costa Rica for the upcoming year. As the plans became reallity I realised that the Canon was not enough for this trip and so I started looking at a DSLR. After weeks of research, comparing, reading en scrolling trough numberous pages on the www, I finally bought a Pentax K100d with the DA18-55 kitlens and the Tamron 70-300 and had 6 months left for practice.
Meanwhile, this trip is over and ever since I got seriously hooked into photography. Besides macro and closeup, wildlife- and landscapephotography are of interest, just as long as I get the chance to go outdoors. On occasion, if the job is worth it and leaves me some time for it, I take my gear with me into a world of dark engine rooms, heavy industrial ports and rusty ships on my job as an engine/turbocharger mechanic .
