February was a lazy month photography-wise, Seventeen of the twenty-nine shots were taken in or around my home. Why? Well because I had neither inspiration nor motivation. Always found an excuse not to go looking for that shot, usually blaming the inclement weather. The last straw as it were for me was when I actually spent four hours in front of the TV watching absolute drivel when I could have been out and about with the Camera. I had the D3100, cable release and tripod all next to me on the sofa ready to go but what do I do? I aim the camera at the view I was seeing from where I was sat and used that shot as my One A Day.
I think the best shot I captured in February had to be the Shy Fishmonger and the Unsuspecting Lobster.

This year I decided to have another crack at the One Photo A Day challenge. Last year I failed miserably lasting only until day three. 2012 though is special. It has 366 days instead of the usual 365 so the challenge is more worthy.
January was sort of hit and miss photographywise. Some captures were brilliant, some were deleters and some were artistic crappery. It's the motivation to get out there with the camera in this cold cold weather that's been my biggest bugbear. I spent a few days in Sheffield so made the effort to go out every day and shoot. Back home in Blackpool though, it's just easier to spy something in the garden. Straight out the back door, capture, straight back in to the warmth. Am desperately trying to avoid shooting ornaments though. They're just too darned easy to shoot. They don't move so you can use whatever shutter speed you want and they're not going to fidget so you can bounce light back where you want it without having to keep making adjustments. ...
