So the Nikon D 800 is out now. It sounds like a great camera. It has full fram and an unheard of 36.3 MegaPixel! Wow. The cost is over $3000.
Will it make you a better photographer? No. It will though eat up memory cards and hard drives.
I know, yes I am a Canon guy, however I am honest as well. I've always said Nikon makes great cameras. I think Nikon and Canon are the best ones out there. As I always say " perception" is a big part of photography. When you are out shooting you want to be taken seriously. Most people have heard of both and are known as top quality cameras. You just won't get the same respect with a Pentax, Sony, or evan a Leica. Most people have never heard of Leica. So even though they are the most expensive, if the public doesn't know they will think of it as a cheap beginner camera.
The D 800 shoots at 4 frames per second. This is where I believe Nikon has its best strength. They are great for fast action shots. If you shoot a lot of sports and action, I recommend a Nikon.
