I am 41 years young, and I live in Weert, Limburg, The Netherlands.
My passion for photography dates back to 1983, when I had a year long class in photography as part of elective topics. 10 years later I started working in a photography store/minilab, selling cameras and developing photos. In the years between 1993 and 1996 I also was a teacher in photography and dark-room technique at different youth clubs in Trondheim (Norway), which is my home town.
Since 2001 I have been living in the BeNeLux-region. From here I have worked as freelancer/stringer towards different media in Scandinavia. Mostly I’ve covered sports, music and current events. Delivering everything from reports to feature material and interviews. I love that I can share things from my “new home country” to “my old one”. It’s also a lovely way of connecting the past, the present and the future.
Photography to me, is to document what I see, what I observe around me, and then to be allowed to show this to the rest of the world. A photograph is a permanent memory of a unique moment that will never be repeated again. However – thanks to the photograph it can be relived and brought back as a memory, over and over again. I find it a privilege to be allowed to be the one creating memories – not only for myself, but also for those in the photographs.
On this page you will find a lot of my work, and you can see how I’ve developed as a photographer through the years. There are photographs from my work as a journalist, and there are photographs that are personal to me in many ways.
(Feel free to add me on FB, but please send me a message there first, saying you found me here)
