I’ve always been interested in telling stories. I wrote my first play for my Barbies when I was 9 years old. There was always a natural love for a good story even if it were told through a photograph. One day when I was in high school my dad came home with some photography books. One of those books was a massive portfolio filled with images of top-selling, commercial products. I flipped through that book every single day and created short stories to go along with the images. This became the basic foundation for my photography:I had to create great short stories if I wanted to create great images. Although it would be years later before I got into photography as a hobbyist I always held onto my foundation. When I picked up a camera at 23 and I was horrible! Out of a roll of 24 exposures I wound up with maybe 6 decent photographs. The rest of the images were either blurry, over exposed or just black — thank goodness for passion, love, discipline, persistence and of course, digital cameras!
