Born in the island of Crete in Greece. In 1985 he graduated from the Athens School of Photography ( akto ) and attended classes and seminars in professional photography and printing techniques in the UK.
He works in the field of advertising and tourist photography, graphic arts and the Internet, and is also active in the tourist publishing sector, producing postcards, calendars, posters, etc., providing a different view and an artistic approach to tourist editions. He has collaborated with major companies and hotels across Greece for advertising purposes, and also with the Greek National Tourism Organization for photographic work on Greece.
Manolis Tsantakis is one of the most highly-regarded Greek recipients of prestigious awards in the field of artistic photography, with many gold medals, distinctions, and prizes in international competitions. His photography has been awarded several prizes by FIAP and the Hellenic Photographic Society. He has also represented Greece at international photography conventions and festivals. He has held photography exhibitions in Greece, Germany, Belgium, France, Austria and Bulgaria, and his work has been published in several international journals and albums. His first personal photo album, “Woman's Light”, is already in international circulation. His photographs are also on display in photography museums in Italy and China, and in private collections around the world
