My path to becoming a photographer is nothing you would consider ordinary or traditional; maybe that accounts for my non-traditional approach to photography. Growing up, I was the athlete, not the artist. I didn’t have a camera handed down to me by my father or grandfather when I was young. I didn't grow up in a family of artists. I didn’t attend an art school or even take a college level photography class. The first time I really became interested in photography was halfway through college in an attempt to explore something new and different.

I attended the University of Oregon on a Track & Field Scholarship and received a degree in a subject probably as different from art and photography as you can find. Like any photographer, from the beginning I was taking pictures of anything and everything (and it all looked pretty terrible). But after a few months (and some pressure from friends) I started to couple my passion for photography with my passion for athletics and that's when I knew this is what I love to do.

Currently, I'm based out of Portland, Oregon, and specialize in Commercial Sports Photography. My work is prodominantly used for marketing, advertising, and promotional materials for sports teams and athletic companies.
