Adventures of a IR Photographer (novice)

Published May 10th, 2012

After waiting 2 1/2 weeks for my Converted IR Canon 20D to arrive from Life Pixel. It's finally here, but there was a small problem. I just didn't have enough sunlight to "properly" test it out. So off I went on a cloudy and rainy day to give it a first drive test and I have to say, this new "toy" it's everything that I hoped and wished for.

The Road

In this third image I wanted a harsh and dark look of the park. I was thinking of the land beyond the wall from "game of thrones" series.

Dreams

Second Image shot. Played around with Photoshop with this one until I was quite happy with the results giving it a nice blur effect while retaining some of the details. It gives it a nice Dream feel.

Double IR

My first image shot. Well actually it's 5 images because it's also an HDR. I wanted to capture the reflections with all of it's details while also having a bit of a blur to soften the leaves.

The Gazebo

Finally! 5 minute of sunshine on my second day of shooting with my converted camera and I have to say the image has a nice tone to it. hardly any work was done besides the channel swap in photoshop.
