Storm Brewing in Chicagoland

Published May 15th, 2012

All day we heard a storm was coming, but there was barely a cloud in the sky. As the day grew closer and closer to sunset clouds started to form in the south. The next thing we knew, a storm system was forming before our eyes. The clouds grew at a very fast pace. I could have taken 500 pictures of the same cloud and each one look different than the last because of how quickly the clouds were expanding. It was happening right as the sun set, creating a great orange and yellow glow upon the clouds. We never felt a drop, but it made for some wonderful pictures

The heart of the storm

At the heart of the cloud system it was clear that it was raining and storming. It was probably about 10-20 miles away at this point.
