Alisa

Published April 19th, 2012

For some time now, I've been planning to do a senior portrait session. After scouting for the right model, I've met Alisa - young, beautiful and a model-to-be teen.

Alisa was very thrilled when she heard about the project and we set to meet on a sunday morning in one of Tel-Aviv's largest parks, Gane-Yehoshu'a.

wearing a gentle white dress (at first) we began to take pictures. Having a model that knows how to react in-front of a camera is a must-have quality for a photo session to succeed, and Alisa gave her best.

We took the two-hour session to create a portfolio that will represent Alisa's qualities and personality. It worked and we have a wonderful time.

Aesthetic is everything in photography

Published February 18th, 2012

One of the things that make a certain photo stand-out from others is AESTHETICS.

Whether you're a past-time photographer or a professional, the way you capture a scene is everything. That being said, even a compact camera can produce wonderful images - it's all up to the photographer's vision and his ability to interpret situations.

So, what is 'aesthetics'?.... That's the hard part, though. For me, 'Aesthetics' combines exposure, composition, lighting, final image quality, subject, background, colors, presentation and post-processing.

You must find for yourself, what makes your work an aesthetic one.

Be inspired!

Yana | Behind the image

Published December 13th, 2011

When I photographed "Yana" I wanted to create a beauty-shot as part of exploring and perfecting my lighting technic.

As seen in my other image "Freckles", the shot is almost the same, but this time I went for a high-key style in my post-production editing.

The model's name is Yana Gurevich. Lucky for me, she has an eastern-european look that fitted well for my work.

Her eyes, general face expression and the tight-composition made the final presentation of the work to be so bold.
