While I have always been involved with creative endeavors, having grown up with a Mother who is artist, crafter and musician all rolled into one, I have only been seriously exploring my creative side since 2005. While dabbling in crafting and illustration, I picked up a simple point-and-shoot and started shooting landscapes and self-portraits. Later I was introduced to Photoshop, where I discovered the joys of photo-manipulation, which is what I believe started me on the journey I am currently on. I bought my first “real” DSLR in 2007 and began to explore the realm of photography seriously- learning how to use the camera while I continued to shoot mostly landscapes and self-portraits. In late 2009, I started working with models, and began to build my portfolio. I have been lucky to work with some brilliant models, hair-stylists, make-up artists and have learned from some incredible photographers along the way. My personal work leans toward illustrations of the gritty, post-apocalyptic fairy-tales that play themselves out in my head, as well as themes of abandonment, decay and survival in challenging and disturbing circumstances. I also love shooting alternative lifestyle portraits, fashion, and vintage inspired imagery.
