Born in Liège in 1990, Julien Braeckevelt is a young fashion photographer based in Charleroi (Belgium).
When he was 16, he grabbed his first camera.
Then, he developed a real passion for the photography and spent most of his time in forgotten places which are really worthwhile to him.
In 2008, he began to mix those deserted places with some portraits. This alchemy takes more and more importance as the time goes by. His studies in graphic design are very complementary with his passion for the photography. It allows him to stride along and constantly improve himself. After a period at the Beaux-Arts Academy in Charleroi, the fashion photography became more than a passion, a kind of obsession.
At the end of 2009, Julien joined the Haute Ecole Albert Jacquard and undertook a few collaborations with make-up artists and clothes designers. Indeed, the natural light fascinates him but he also likes working in studio where he accomplishes ideas and projects of which he had thought for a long time.
Being continously looking for new ideas, he gets his inspiration from all over the world. This thirst for the image culture not only helps him to have a good eye but also to have an open-mindedness and some distance as far as his work is concerned.
