It was only much later on in life that Brett became involved in conservation work, volunteering with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife (formerly Natal Parks Board) and C.R.O.W. (Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife). He then joined a private anti-poaching unit, which patrolled most of the farms on the western boundary of Kruger National Park.
Wanting to continue with a career in the wilderness, Brett became a professional guide. He has been living and working in the African bush for more than 10 years, mostly guiding people on foot and educating them about Africa’s flora and fauna. This is where his passion for photography evolved, being out in the wilderness every day and having the opportunity to capture it through the camera’s lens.
Brett believes the only way to explore Africa is on foot and to give a free-floating attention to every encounter. He specializes in walking, photographic and birding safaris, tracks and tracking and the wilderness experience. Above all elephants are his greatest love.
Through the lens of his camera, he hopes to capture your dreams out there in the wilderness.
