Rafael grew up in southern California, but was born in Mexico City. He majored in graphic design but soon found his passion in photography. His background in graphic design influences Rafael's minimalist approach to photography and also gives him an excellent eye for composition and balance. Even though Rafael loves all forms of photography, he is drawn to portraits. He believes that beauty exists in everyone and that it's the job of the photographer to find it. He believes that this is the definition of a great photographer, one who can show the client what they may not see in themselves.
