I am a self taught photographer, from Ontario, Canada. I never took many pictures till I got my first digital camera a few years ago.The first thing I learned right away was to turn the dial off automatic, and shoot manual. That's the only way to learn about lighting. Light can be your friend and your enemy.
I read something once, that to be a great photographer, "you have to shoot with your soul".
Another great quote was..."with one eye you see... the other you feel."
I shoot mostly ground level pictures, as opposed to landscapes. There's a whole other world down low to the ground that most people never stop to look and see. There are more shapes, textures, colors, patterns, shadows and creatures than you can even imagine.Almost all my pictures come out of my backyard.
Another quote... "The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera."
I like to think of myself as an artist, and I paint myself into my pictures.
Thanks for stopping by.
My flickr link doesn't seem to work... this seems to be what will get you there..
