A regular on the Underground Electronic Music Scene in Leeds for almost 20 years, both as a clubber and with his musical project Suburban Acid Saturation, Christian Bodden has a wide experience and involvement with this exciting scene.
He has promoted and worked on a wide range of events, such as Gerth, Chemical Generation, Northern Green Gathering, Hyde Park Unity Day and Moor Music Festival.
He combines these with his passion for photography, and has shot recently at such events as Unity Day, Beaverfest, Mush, Kendal Calling, Lime Tree Music Festival, Sunrise and Remedy.
His style aims to bring something exciting and vibrant to this area of photography, whether this is via swirling long-exposure images, or crusty zine-like black and white film photography.
He extends this work in gigs and clubs with work exploring all areas of underground culture in Leeds and further afield. This work focuses on semi-candid portraits using styles inspired by vernacular photography: ‘point and shoot’ film compacts, modern day ‘toy cameras’ and old cartridge instamatics. This breaks down the distance between photographer and subject and provides a nostalgic take on this subject area.
