I got my first DSLR in October 2010, and have fallen so much in love that I don't even realize it - it's like breathing (the love, that is). The world is magic.
My first foray into street photography occurred when I was 12. A friend of mine and I loaded up my mom's point and shoot camera and went busting around our family housing complex taking photos of anyone we saw (including pointing it through open windows). My next encounter with photography happened as a hockey school instructor - each week we were given a camera and 5 rolls of film. On top of teaching a group of teenage boys how to become better hockey players and better people, we were supposed to fill that film with portraiture for the end-of-week slide show. I never realized how much I was learning.
I really only confirmed my conscious love for photography in 2005 when I received my Lumix FZ-5 as a birthday gift. I couldn't stop taking pictures.
