Photography is something I've been doing for over 20 years. First using a Canon AE1 capturing a lot of nature and random subjects to learn the craft. Then in the early 1990's I earned a degree from The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. I learned a lot on how to use my camera, but didn't learn how to capture my shot. Over the years I continued to shoot those same random things and slowly worked on "my signature style".
Then, in 2004, a friend of mine gave me the confidence to make photography my own. I mixed my fine art style with commercial accounts. Shooting things from abnormal perspectives, looking at things unlike most people, tilting the camera where you normally wouldn't and getting all dirty or wet to lower the angle or going really high to see something that nobody would be able to see.
Today I shoot with the Nikon 3DX and have the best lenses and a really nice photo studio at z2. But anyone can have or buy these things. It's how you see it and how you make your own perspective that makes photography your own.
