I was introduced to street photography by a friend when I was 15 years old in the mid 70's. I used one of his Pentax and when the evening came we rushed to the dark room and revealed our "catches of the day". The magic of the first night in the darkroom transformed me. Throughout the 80's I avidly walked the streets with a Nikon F similar to the one displayed by Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse Now (still have to scan all those negatives). I came back to photography a few years ago to continue my search for "snapshots" in the streets of the cities I visit. The contribution of images to the remembrance of things past is of foremost need, either to capture the life on the street, a face or an apparently insignificant detail that might reveal more about life.
