A Shot in the Dark

How do you manage a shoot when you don't know when - or even if - the model will arrive, you don't know where she will appear and you aren't sure what clothing she will have on if she does show?

Luck plus Perseverance plus many random shots might result in a presentable capture. However, there are a few steps you can take to increase your odds to capture the shot when the moment arrives. The best news of all? Almost anyone can try it!

Tools

A sturdy tripod is a must. Not only do you have to deal with long exposures but you will likely find yourself in some wind as well. Don't let a great capture get away because of a blurry image.

A camera with manual settings, including manual focus. Intimidated by full manual control? Perhaps but get over it with plenty of practice.
